Patchwork Done Right
Back in February I posted my distaste for SOPHNET’s recent patchwork releases. I feel it is necessary to clarify that I do like some patchwork pieces. I think that when it is used correctly (and sparingly) patchwork can be a beautiful touch to a garment. For an example of it being used well, look at the recently released collaborative blazer by Junya Watanabe and Brooks Brothers below.
The detailing is entirely below the top button, slightly asymmetrical and as a result provides just the right edge to the classic look of a Brooks Brothers blazer. But let’s be honest, the mismatched buttons and off-colored cuffs don’t hurt either.
